Elizabeth Siglin-Gilbert (Mrs. Frederick Gilbert)

Mrs. Frederick Gilbert, an old resident of this vicinity, died at Winslow on Saturday, aged seventy-seven years. Her husband died just three weeks before her. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Siglin and she was born in Monroe County, Pa. She was married to Mr. Gilbert on Sept. 6, 1846. In 1867 the family came west and located on a farm in the town of Wayne, over the Wisconsin line. In 1896 Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert moved to Winslow. Twelve children were born to them, as follows: Henry, James, Josiah and Frederick of Winslow, Mrs. Thomas Wolf of Winslow, Mrs. M.L. Gates of Jackson, Minn., Mrs. William Stackpole of Warren, Ill. Peter of Garner, Ia., John Gilbert of Tonkawa, Okla. The funeral was held this afternoon at 1 o'clock and burial will be at the La Duc church near South Wayne.
