Carl Ludolph, 96, of 1050 W. Galena Ave., died this morning at Freeport Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He came to the United States in 1908. He was a retired machinist, having been employed by Arcade Manufacturing, Stover Manufacturing and Rawleigh Co. He was an active member of the Freeport Odd Fellows for many years.
He was born Feb. 9, 1884, in Kassel, Germany. He married Florence Risshel who died May 15, 1980.
Surviving are five sons, Woodrow of Ancona, Carl of Phoenix, Ariz., Kenneth of Rockford, Fred of Hurst, Texas, and Robert of Freeport; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip J. Anstedt, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. [p] A memorial fund has been established.
