Pioneer Lena Lady Died at Home of Daughter
Mrs. Lucy Ann DAWS died at Rockford Sunday. Mrs. Lucy Ann DAWS, 93, passed away Sunday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irvin FRIEDLY, in Rockford. Mrs. Daws, formerly Miss Lucy Ann REBER, was born in Kent township Oct. 5, 1848, and spent most of her life in the community. On Jan. 27, 1867, she was united in marriage to George W. DAWS, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Milford G. and James DAWS of Lena, and Leslie H. DAWS of South Haven, Minnesota; two daughters, Mrs. Cora BUSS of Warren, and Mrs. FRIEDLY of Rockford; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. DAWS was a member of the Methodist church at Lena. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena. Rev. Samuel Taylor, of the Lena Methodist church officiated and burial was made in the Lena Burial Park.
