I am doing research on the BEARD and ASKEY families in Stephenson County. BEARD (Hiram and Rebecca) moved from Washington County, Maryland to Ogle County, Illinois and finally to Ridott in Stephenson County, Illinois in 1875. ASKEY (Ellis and Eliza) came from Centre County, Pennsylvania and settled in Ridott circa 1848. Their children, William Henry Beard and Mary Askey respectively, married and are my great-great-grandparents. I still need info on BEARD when they were in Maryland state.
